First of all.. nice site plenty of info and since i am new to Xbox's it looks a good place to start..
Questions.. (hopefully not asked before but probably have)
Just got an Xbox Crystal not sure of the Bios Version
its got an xecutor 2.6 chip fitted and slayer (dont know the version) thats about it..
thing is i have been around a few sites and some say that the max HDD you can have is a 137gb but yet i look at some of the members info and they have got 160+gb...
Now TBH i am a little bit concerned about buggering up my Xbox as its also a Xmas pressie for the son.. (dual purpose present )
but i have got a 160gb HDD and want to fit it.. the putting it in part aint a problem but what else do i need software wise..
how do i know if my Bios will take 160gb ..
do i have to flash the Bios?
what version do i flash it with?
do i need ftp to flash it?
Please any help would be gratefull..
Thanks..

Hiya
Yes you can use that 160GB, you need a bios that supports LBA48 thats all. As you have a crystal it is probably a 1.6, so you will need the evox m8 bios or m8+ if it is a 1.6b, you will need to download the lba48 version or patch it yourself using evtool.exe
Basically you fit the hard drive, use the autoinstaller to install evox and format the drives etc, check the total space of the drives, if it's like almost 160gb then your ok, if it's 129GB on F: drive then you need to change the bios, evox ain't that good for flashing. so perhaps use the xecuter program for it.

Pretty much, you need to select install new hard disk etc, and install evox, and ms dash etc.
But yeh, it's pretty simple.
