Hi Guysl
I had my 1.0 xbox modded with a Xenium 2.0.1 and I fat fingered (erased) the TSOP. Now any time I load the TSOP and the image is not "too big to fit"all goes well. It automatically calls itself retail something or nothing but won't run when selected to loaded and run.
The screen goes black as I await the green splash and only get 1 tick from the speakers and the system either falls back to the Xenium OS or hangs for a power cycle.
What pray tell 'am I doing wrong? Is there a software way (diag tool) to watch this process fail. Thanks in advance.

Are you saying you wiped the TSOP info off of your motherboard??
Or, did you just wipe the TSOP flash off of the mod chip?
I would do an OS recovery on the Xenium Ice mod chip. Just load your hacked bios and FTP the HDD version of the upgrade to your E drive. Or you can just use the FTP tools on the Xenium Ice mod chip and FTP it to your HD. Make sure your HD is unlocked before you do the recovery. I would restore the chip to factory state.
Once you upgrade the OS to the factor state/2.0.1. I would try to get that retail kernel working again. Do that before you reflash a hacked bios to your mod chip.

Hi realmccloy;
I'm getting confused. I thought there was only one TSOP on the system (MB ver 1.0-1.5 per cap269's NOOB guide) and the ICE had a 4X256KB flash. I had my box professionally modded and it came loaded with something called "retail -A" version. I know I should have backed up all the disk partitions but the fool started fooling around and started flashing some easily gotton bios+dash onto the ICE's flash area. I assume and correct me if I'm wrong the in the flash to menu, the left item:TSOP is on the motherboard, the center item: FLASH is on the ICE and the right item: DISK (still under construction) is the system's hard disk. So what I'm trying to say is I can run all flashed bioses all and I configed "Unleashed X" via evox.ini. to run as an app from the EvoX menu. When I boot, Zenium 2.0.1 loads and runs great. I just can't run anything from Zenium's Launch menu TSOP. I all seems to load properly (i.e. no complaints) I've tried all combos of retail loads and m$ dashes etc. I believe that their are some other resources that I've blown away. Maybe an Xboxdashdata *.xpi file or something. Do you have the requirements for a retail load (i.e. disk map and contents). Or maybe it's broken!!!

Thanks for the response realmccloy. Your input made me think differently about the problem and that's good.

Yes, there is only one TSOP on the xbox. When you are at your Xenium Ice menu and you see the launch items menu, if you select Retail Kernel, that should take you right to the MS Dash. If that is gone, if you deleted that, then you have to redo the TSOP assignment.
If you are saying that you did some things to your HD and when you select this you get errors, then that means you need to reinstall your MS Dash to the HD. Some files must've become corrupt.
I have never had a problem doing the TSOP flash over again after it has been deleted, so I am still puzzled on what your exact issue is.
I dont know what you mean by flashing a dash on the chip?? You flash bios on chip, you install a dashboard on the HD.
Sorry that I am having a hard time understanding your issue... _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Hi realmccloy;
Yeah I'm sorry. I know the dash is on the harddisk and the bios is the only piece that's flashed. Here's what I did. I removed from the ICE's flash of two versions of EvoX I had installed and using samba moved everything to my PC's Xbox work area. I left the MS original XboX "dashboard.xbe" file on the 'C' drive and began. flashing some old original bioses gotten from one of the usual places (1.0 board must = older bios) to the TSOP. Some were meg and some 256k. They all completed the flash process without error. They all named themselves "retail release". When I got the box I think it said "retail release -A". However when booting from each of the test setups, the screen would go blank, then a tick from the speakers and in most cases fall back to Xenium 2.0.1. When I got the box I took the cavalier approach and probably blew away the bios and/or dashboard that came with and worked fine. I concede to it being my fault. I just wanted to know if there was a software tool that might perfrom compatibility checks or other diags specific to the software.

No, I don't know of any tools that you could use. My only suggestion would be to do a recovery back to the factory condtion. There is a recovery.bin file that will let you totally reset your chip back to the factory condtion and you can just start all over. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

I found the recovery.bin file and will give your suggestion a whirl.
Thanks for you help.
