As a complete Newbie - forgive me if I sound dumb. I have just installed my xecuter 3 chip in my xbox, and have installed a new 120gig hard drive. Now when I switch on my XBOX I have Red and Green flashing lights, and the XBOX switches off and on twice. When I then connect my original hard drive, the XBOX works.
Can anyone help, I am a complete newbie, and need help on how to flas my bios and instal a dashboard.

Antc1983,
I just modded my first XBox with the same chip. While mine was the V1.0 Xbox the procedure is still close to the same. There are great tutorials right here http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials.htmlo and at teamxecuter.com and if you have followed those I woudl suggest first checking your solder points if a solder connection or your pin placement if using the solderless connection. These are the most common causes of fragging problems after modding.

It wouldn't be the solder points. If he is swapping HD's and getting a frag with the new HD then it's just a minor issue.
First, is your chip enabled or disabled when you boot with the new HD?
Second, what errors are you getting on the screen, or do you have no video during the frag (flashing red and green, light).
I have a feeling you are having the chip disabled and the xbox is trying to boot to the MS Dashboard. Since you just installed the HD there are no files on it yet, so it is going to choke.
We need you to boot your chip up so that you get the flash bios screen and have the ability to put a hacked bios on the chip. Do you understand that you need to do that first, and do you know the process. Let me know, I'll help you all I can.

Guess my old eyes didn't catch the "When I then connect my original hard drive, the XBOX works. " line of his post. Hopefully all he needs to do is get a good bios installed and then run the AI. I ran Slayers myself but I am looking forward to the new HQ-AI. _________________ GTGene

My eyes are right there behind ya bud..hehehe.
We have the 1959 bios available for download. I have used the 1957 on the few machines that I chipped with the X3 and so far nobody has had any issues.
