Shocker! My local Wal-Mart (in East BuFu, VA) actually started selling Halo 2 just after midnight! They were selling Halo 2 $5 gift cards as a way to reserve a copy, so I bought one a few weeks ago.
I got in line (OK, I actually STARTED the line!).... and waited... and waited... then I waited a little longer. FINALLY midnight rolls around and they open up these boxes. They pulled out a few of the "Limited Collector's Edition" Halo 2 tins. Everyone gasps excitedly! They then say "Raise your hand if you reserved a copy". Everyone raised their hand... everyone but that guy who was first in line (me)! I felt something was afoot! They announced "If you reserved a copy, you get the regular edition, because that's what was reserved for you!". They then proceeded to pass out the regular Halo 2 versions to everyone... everyone but me! I said "I want the Limited Edition Halo 2!". Sweet! I got it! [Collective groan from the surrounding hoarde.] It was the same price as the regular version, so I thought I got a pretty good deal.
I still have my $5 Halo 2 Wal-Mart gift card that I can use for other purchases.... and if they give me crap about "that card was supposed to be used on the purchase of Halo 2!", I'll probably be able to sell it on ebay for $10! _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room
