Hi everyone, i've recently posted a topic about problems with an aladdin chip. In my many atempts to solve the problem, i soldered the chip and removed it twice, tha last one for good, but with the chip came a part of the D0 track, and a very small component near the BT conection on the 1.4 mobo.
Now the problem with the aladdin is solved, it's destroyed and i have to get a new chip, this time, DEFENETLY NOT AN ALADDIN.
The D0 was a serious FUC*UP, but it's fixed, the small component problem is not...
I over heated the component with the soldering iron, and when i was removing the flux(with that thing i can't tell in english, let's call it the FLUX SUCKER) it sucked the flux and the component.
I had to open the dawn thing and search for it in the middle of all that sucked flux and put it back where it belongs, but i don't know what kind of component it is !!??? If it's a resistor i can solder it in any position, but if it's a diode or a capacitor, it has a position, and i don't know it.
I heated it so mutch i can't see the small numbers on top of that component, so no way i can buy a new one. I solder it in any way, the xbox goes on as sun as i plug in the power coord, the on/off button doesn't turn it off, the eject button is ok.

SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THAT COMPONENT IS, WHAT'S IT'S POSITION, WHAT IS WRITTEN ON TOP OF IT, SEND PICTURES, EVERITHING YOU'VE GOT...

Thanks for your time... !

Hiya

Ok basically all it does is act as a resistor (diode on a 1.1 I think), if you just join the points it will work fine, did it to mine over almost a year ago and is still fine, it just regulates the voltage tot he eject board.

Failing that just buy a replacement compnonent from llamma (search google for xbox llamma)

If it is a diode for some wierd reason I just soldered an led in there, these are all customers who wrecked thier boards and wanted them fixed cheap.

When you get another chip, get a Duox2, the BT point is on the back of the eject board (big ass solder point) so you can't wreck anything and it also has 2 bioses to switch between.

If you want one then I can sell you one, I also do xecuter 2.6's for a good price

DJH

I don't think that it's a very good idea, if it's a resistor, it's there for some reason. I really prefer to find out exacly what is that component, buy a new one and put it there.
Can anyone please tell me what it is, what is writen on it, a close picture,
every info you got is welcome.

Thanks...

Hiya, well as I also said, just try llamma, he sells all the surface mounts you need. The circuit has the resistors in series, the voltage given out by shorting one of them is still well within safe ranges for any led.
