OMG I was arranging some stuff and I renamed one of the dashes It wasnt the default.xbe one though it was evoXdash.xbe but I renamed it and NOW IT won't even boot At all it just turns on and the light flashes red with one of the errors on screen.
I know what file it is and what the original name was I have the HDD hooked up to my COMP but can't access it cause it's locked I need to know how to unlock it so I can rename the file to its original name I then need to lock it again so the Xbox can read it. Is there anyprogram that can unlock and lock HDD's!!!
PLEASE!!! HELP ME NOW THIS IS MY ONLY MODDED XBOX AND I DONT" HAVE EQUIPMENT TO MOD IT I BOUGHT IT LIKE THIS I'M PANICING BCUZ I LOVE THIS THING .

If i could just access the HDD some how on anything just to change the name of the one FILE!!! I could fix everyting I know the exact name cause I got it all back-uped on my PC but I have no way of changing the name or accessing the HDD with my PC it can't recognize it for some reason.
Also what is this AID disc your talking about what does it do.
I keep on getting error 16 but I know thats not the problem.
IT HAS NO DASH!!! it could set the time if it had a dash but theres only 2 dashes on it right now ybox dash and evoxdash it also has default.xbe which I didn't touch thinking that's the one it uses to boot I WAS WRONG i changed the evoxdash to AVAlaunchdash.xbe cause it wasnt evoX it was AVAlaunch.

Hopefully it's still booting the softmod.. If you get Auto Installer Deluxe to boot it will enable a FTP Server and allow you to copy and backup stuff even without a dashboard installed.
if only there was some program that could hack the HDD without chaning the stuff that the xbox uses to open just so I can change the one file name.
thats all I need to do is open it up and change the file name. its sounds easy but its not
also I dunno if its still running but since it can't get a dash I can't do anything with it I just get error 16

Error 16 is a bitch, do you have your eeprom backup on your PC?

Stick the locked hard drive back in the xbox
Pull the IDE cable out of the DVD Rom
Boot the xbox
You now have a different error, remove the hard drive without turning off the xboxes power ...... your drive is now unlocked, use xplorer360 to access it. _________________

NO I don't I bought it already soft modded which I was hoping it was chipped cuz I hear those are alot easier to fix if you mess somethin on the HDD up.I'm hoping user1 is right cuz that would really save me big time but I just now checked it and its 9:34PM and I gotta go to bed soon and go to school.

so basically a hot swap I tried it and I had to get a .dll I did.
I disconnect dvd drive cable boot xbox
connect the HD to my comp with a IDE cable
boot my comp
run xplorer 360
no fatX drive detected(windows detects the hard drive but its not in mycomputer I click properties and hardware and I see it there) also its using a western digital 120gig HD
am I doing something wrong?
When you boot the xbox you are trying to get an error 11 or 12
this means the hard drive will be unlocked.
do not turn the xbox off when you remove the drive & keep it running while you reinstall the now fixed hard drive.
sometimes xplorer360 wont see the drive, download a different version of xplorer or maybe swap the jumper on the xbox hard drive before installing it in your PC. _________________

oh my god guys after the 50th time of trying to hot swap I gave up..a couple days later I try again after figuring out i was doing it wrong. I did it the way I was suppose to while xplorer360 didn't work I had the xbox HDM with my entire C partion on it and it worked thank you guys show much for the help I love this machine more than you could imagine I like it more than my PS3(mostly cuz i'm afraid of being banned) since I can run as many games as I want! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
