Hi,
I've followed the helpful guides on this website and managed to get my FTP working for the most part (going from PC to router, then router to Xbox via DHCP mode). The downloading half seems to be working just fine. The problem is, there are issues when uploading. I would like to transfer some .mp3 files and other stuff to it, and sometimes it uploads files just fine, then other times I get a connection closed, file opening error. Does anyone have any idea on what could cause such an error to only pop up part of the time? Its really confusing to me.
Also, uploading the files zipped or in RAR format to the Xbox seems to work very well compared to individually and getting errors part of the time. Is there any way to upload the compressed files then unpack them once they are on the Xbox? It might be a silly question, but I have no idea and figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
Just to note I'm using WS_FTP 12 Home. Thanks in advance.

It could be something as simple as filename length or invalid character in the filename.. Try renaming some of those mp3's making the filename shorter.

I was thinking along the same lines originally and I tried different directories in transferring files thinking the length in that was an issue and also I tried removing characters that weren't letters in the file name and that didn't change much.
But, combining that with shortening the file names seems to make a lot more of the file transfers work with uploading, so I think that was the issue in a lot of the cases. I'm still encountering a few problems with transfers freezing my computer every so often, but I think that's just a PC issue on my end and not related to this problem. Thanks for the suggestion, I should of thought of that before.

I always run FlashFXP to ftp between my xbox and pc or whatever.. It seems to be the fastest for me mysef.. Other guys use CUTEFTP etc.. Maybe you could try another ftp client and see if that helps..
