Hey everyone, have not been around for a while, but still been playing with these xboxes.
My living room xbox (softmod) is on the verge of death, so I am gonna have to put another one together, and I think maybe I should do this one with a chip. I've done probably 30 or so softmods, but no chips. So I got a few questions.
1. Can i boot off the usb with the chip?
2. Can I use any dvd drive I want?
3. What chip should I buy? Price is not an issue and I can solder real good.

What about hdds then, can you use any one you want? Or two hdds?

With a chip in place there is no need to lock the HDD so yeah damn near all HDDs work and with the use of a toggle switch you can add as many HDDs as you like but each hdd will need its own dash and you cant read info from all the hdds at one time.

So can I can only use one at a time still? No chucking the dvd and running two at all?

Like i said you can boot one HDD and if what you wants on the other hdd you need to turn it off flip the switch for the other hdd and power back up.
