Hi all, just signed up after finding this place, looks fantastic btw.
Anyhoo I own 2 soft modded xbox's, the first one I had softmodded by a guy off of craigslist (I didn't feel I was up to the challenge and might screw it up )
The second I softmodded myself (Yay) after buying one for 15$ so I figured if I screwed it up it would be no big deal.
1st. Question is: The 1st xbox I had modded I am looking at it with Flash FXP and trying to find the EEPROM and was wondering if I am looking @ it correctly, If I am correct it looks like it's in a folder titled Configmagic-Xbox-1.6-Final / Data / There are 4 files in there (Blank V1.0 EEPROM.bin, Blank V1.1 EEPROM.bin, eeprom.bin, and eeprom.cfg.
Are these the files that I need to back up on my PC? I am not familiar with Configmagic whatsoever so I didn't want to screw with it.
The second question I have is: The guy who modded my first xbox loaded a whole lot of apps and emu's on it even being the HD was only the O.E. HD, the xbox I modded doesn't appear to have much room at all on the O.E. HD, Am I missing a utility that formats or structures the stock HD better? I plan on replacing maybe both HD's with bigger units in the future but I don't have the pieces right now, streaming from my PC has worked quite well with XBMC so I wasn't in a rush. Any help would be appreciated.
Thx,
Will.

You want the eeprom.bin from the config magic folder. I would run config magic on your xbox first and make a backup to make sure it actually is backed up.
As for the stock HDD you can get an extra 2 gigs on some of the newer xboxes that came out, but it's not really all that worth it. _________________

Thanks, that worked perfectly, I saved a copy of the eeprom to my pc.

Any tips on what folders I can delete files from? I didn't want to get carried away and maybe delete something needed by accident.
To get the extra 2 gigs Darth mentions you need a Seagate harddrive in your xbox, these are 10Gb in size but only 8Gb of that is partitioned.
Use Auto Installer Deluxe or the UnleashX dashboard to `Format F` - If your lucky and have a Segate drive the extra 2Gb should show up in your dashboard. _________________

Thanks, not sure if this is the right HD but it's model number is: WDC WD80EB 28CGH2
I don't see an "F" drive though only: C,E,H,I,X,Y,Z
Is that normal?
Seems like you are out of luck, thats a Western Digital harddrive you have there.
C,E,X,Y & Z are `normal` ..... I havent got a clue what H & I are, what size are they ? _________________

H, and I do not show up in the file explorer but they do show in Flash FXP, there are a couple small files in H and nothing in I.

H and I are often the letter given to a mem card if its in.
Hmmm ..... Im still non the wiser. (its not a memory card you still have plugged in, is it ?)
Anyway, the safe place to put stuff is on your E:/ partition, you should have roughly 4Gb of space there. _________________

Is it OK to delete the exploit files (SID and Mechassualt save) that were loaded onto the HD for the soft mod in the manage gamesaves section?

I would leave them on because if the softmod ever messes up and you can reboot up the softmod installer and get it fixed. _________________
