Hello,
I've been running a softmod for about 3 years on my Xbox and I've been looking into getting X3 Xecuter 3 Control Panel which from my understanding would require me to modchip my Xbox.
I currently use my Xbox for XBMC and I'm looking for the easiest way to "upgrade" from a softmod to an Xecuter.
I'm figuring what I'll have to do is backup my current stuff and do the mod and then follow whatever tutorial I need to for my chip get XBMC running and then copy back over my userdata, etc for XBMC.
But I'd like to know if anyone has done this or not.
I want to get the control panel so I can use a remote to turn off/on my Xbox since it's become a very large part of my media system (play DVDs off my network, etc).
Thanks for any assistance!

You would want to remove the softmod from the xbox. Install the mod chip and it get flashed. Then use AID to install a mod chip style dashboard (mod chips boot dashes differently than a softmod does so to speak).
I'm not an expert with XBMC so I don't know what you would copy over to keep your stuff. I would just FTP the XBMC folder over to your computer before you uninstall the softmod. _________________

Install any modchip.. i just love modchips.. softmods suck ass. Too much fucking around..
After you have installed your modchip pop in auto installer deluxe and it will do the rest.. Do a full format and reinstall.
This way your softmod will be removed.
OR, grab a larger hdd and keep your old one safe, then use Auto installer Deluxe to auto format and install stuff for your new larger hdd.
