I know you guys know more about this than I but I do not see booting the AID cd as an option because it starts up and reboots in less than a second. Way to short for the CD to be read. After about the third boot it stops booting and the light indicates some sort of error but nothing shows on the screen.
Like I said you guys know more than I but I don't see how any part of the CD can be read in less than a second.
Let me know

If you have a chip and its still just boot cycling then it sounds like the chip is broke or turned off, if the chip is fine then it should boot the aid disk since it cant find a dash.

If its soldered in you could check all of the solder points to make sure its still on there right.
If its solderless try reseating the chip.
If neither of those fix it then it may be the chip is dead as wes said. _________________

Um, the error code is 7. The xbox wont open the dvd player, so will i have to get a Slayers disc and manually insert it into the DVD Player by unscrewing it open?

7 - kernel - HDD timeout
Most of the times, the IDE cable is not properly connected when you see this error. Please reattach the ide cable. Not only to the harddisk drive but also to the dvd drive. ALso try to reconnect the ide cable to the motherboard.
Press pretty hard so it goes all the way in. Make sure it is seated straight and proper in the drives and the motherboard. If you still have an error 7. Try another ide cable. If that won't work try another harddisk. If there is still no go, try to set the jumpers on the rearside of the harddisk drive. Set it to master or cable select. If still no succes, good luck and sell your xbox to me rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the info wes buti already commited that whole list to memory.
Well. Now when i boot my cousin's xbox up after the splash movie the "Microsoft" Text doesnt appear at the bottom.
The HD Locks up from there so i cant open it up and the XBOX is sitting there doing nothing.

It sounds like a missing dash file or dead HDD.

My guess exactly. Its not dead as i can hear and physically see the HDD clicking and reading.
Two years ago when playing Halo 2 at a party, their XBOX turned off by itself and to only discover that later it wont even boot up. Cant be specific on details as for that was years ago.
Im aware and sternly confirming that the HDD has no files in it, somehow got wiped during the incident.

thanks, but from previous posts, hotswap is the Only method i know of so no tuts needed on my behalf.
Howeve, when starting up XBHDM, since the XBOX's HD has never been modded before, XBOXHDM cannot feature the Rebuilt HD option. Also because there are no files within the HD to start off of to backup, i have no appropiate backups nor am i able to Unlock/Lock it to my cousin's Motherboard without his EEPROM. I can make the EEPROM Reader and load his EEPROM But... that would be my last resort.
If i am unable to get the EEPROM, i may just over write his, but that is not a valid option due to the fact that i cant even launch Config Magic on his XBOX.

Sounds like a nice tight jam bro, eeprom reader or chip is all that can be used to fix the xbox now.

Ahh well fine with me.
Im just going to get a non-solderless Modchip and solder it onto a circuit board and convert into a non solderless to save $12.
If not maybe ill have fun with the EEPROM reader with endless nights of headaches.

All chips are solderless just about, just need a pin header and most chips come with that.

So if I would get a new modchip I would just uninstall the one now and install the new one and I would be back up and running for the most part?
