Noob here and hi all. According to the XBOX Identifier program, it seems I have v. 1.6 and I have made a EEPROM Reader but I cannot seem to progress past the point of making the proper connections on my MOBO.

The tutorial that I used was for v. 1.6 XBOX models, but the EEPROM chip and board seems to look slightly different despite the XBOX identifier stating I have a 1.6 version.

The motherboard on my XBOX is fully functional, I am just trying to retrieve HDD Lock/ Unlock codes to get my XBOX up and working again (TO RETAIL/ ORIG. STATE) after a BOTCHED Softmod,

By the way the EEPROM chip shows as “ 24CO2N ”

Please assist.
Thx guys/ all

Im sorry but i really dont know what to tell you the guide has it all right there, are you sure you built the reader step for step?

A mod chip will fix this for you.

nope, each xbox has a unique eeprom, and the mobo cross checks it with the hdd key and eeprom, and if their not the same it won't boot, so u have to use the same mobo and hdd that camed with ur xbox, sorry mate, : Crying or Very sad

Darn and thx. Only consolation is that I was able to make the XBOXHD disc, and another thing is I may try using motherboard power. I failed to mention that I connected x3 (1.5 D Batteries) in series to make 4.5 volts power.

I did check on my digital multimeter and the voltage read around 4.85V.

theres a program called xboxhdm you can use to fix your drive. theres a tut on here for it. You can plug the ide cable from a pc mobo into the xbox mobo and it will read the eeprom and you can then build the drive however you want. but it sounds like you have other problems, i'm really tired and didn't read very good. but thats how you can get an eeprom

xbox hdm needs an eeprom code and in fact can not read it off the mobo.
