Hey there FC, I got somewhat a little farther, after choosing a lower burning speed, I was able to at least have my new HD recognized and I was able to copy the C and E drives while formatting F drive to the New Hard drive accomplished.

However, I once again face the daunting obstacle/ error message when trying to LOCK the hard drive... This time the error mess. says...
"eeprom.bin." file not found??

I find this extremely perplexing because I KNOW for a fact that I correctly placed a copy of the "eeprom.bin" file into the eeprom folder directory.

I am kind of between a rock and a hard place now, I presume that now I just need to get lock password or something to that effect (from eeprom)?

I totally copied all c/ e drives from the FTP protocol and I am completely stuck guys...

I am guessing that CHIMP is my only hope? (even after successfully copying c/ e drives to new hard drive.

Thx for all your help and please feel free to share your inputs..

Its strange that you are getting the file not found message if you're positive that youi placed the eeprom in the correct folder. You won't be able to lock the HDD without it in XboxHDM. Chimp has a way of locking the drive from the m'board, but I'm not sure if HDM has that facility, been a while since I used it. I always use Chimp these days.

If you do decide to go with Chimp then just give me a shout and we'll go through it, see if we can get you upgraded that way.

Let me know how it goes and what you decide to do.

Yea, looks like Chimp will be my next route. Soo close but yet so farr. lol My question for now is being that I was at least able to copy c and e folders to the New/ bigger hard drive, will that cause any conflictions with the Chimp program?

Nah none at all, Chimp will format the drive anyway before beginning the clone, so it won't make any difference.

Keep plugging away man, you'll get it in the end. Just yell if you need anything.

Just out of interest, what version of Xbox do you have?

You just ain't having an easy time of it are you lol.

Ok, as you have a v1.6 Xbox, you'll need to use the telnet method of Chimp. If you scroll to the bottom of my Chimp tut, you'll see the link "How to use Chimp on a v1.6 Xbox". Follow the telnetting guide in there and you should be fine.

Its not as easy as being able to do it on the Xbox itself, but thats a downside to a v1.6 box. Telnetting will give you the same results though, just give me a shout if you get stuck or need anything.

WOW ty, saved me a future let down, lol. Ty very much for the heads up and I'll get all the files needed ready before my y molex splitter arrives.
By the way, when I click on "How to use Chimp on an Xbox v1.6," I get a file not found invalid link.

Hey, thx a lot!

Thanks man. There's two telnet links at the bottom of my tut which in theory should point to the same place, but one doesn't seem to work.

Thanks for giving him the link, I was in the land of the sleep by then lol.
