I just got a new 1080 TV. I have a regular xbox with XBMC that I still stream movies from my computer to.
What do I need to enhance the video quality to take advantage of this 1080? Given that I have videos on my computer of that resolution.
Do I need newer cables?
Any new software and/or configurations on the xbox?
Shoot me some links along with any advise.
I think its a rev 1.1 or 1.2 xbox

Looks like I need a new 5 prong hd cable?
Is there muck to gain from the proprietary monster xbox version ($50) or can I go with a cheaper gold plated version for ($15) and get the same result? _________________ XBOX v1.1:

I'm pretty sure the gold AV cables work just the same. _________________

Not trying to teach you how to suck eggs here but do you know that you have to enable 720p and 1080i on the video settings in M$ dash and xbmc as well as obviously connecting your hd av pack, which ever one you decide on.
That is of course if it's an ntsc xbox you have. If you have a pal xbox then you'll have to use the enigma switcher to change to ntsc. Then you can enable 720p 1080i in your m$ dash then do the same in xbmc.
Again, apologies if you know this already but it maybe of help to someone in the future that gets this as a google hit in 3yrs time. LOL!
