hi again
bought another xbox to use as a media centre for my ma-in-law
installed softmod with sid 5,all working ok.
then loaded aid 4.3 (eventually, phillips drive didn't want to load the first couple of tries) then choose 1 click install and picked xbmc ,then saw a message about unmounting virtual c drive, so went back to softmod install
and tried to unmount virtual c, when it got near to the end it came up with an error.
Then I went back to 1 click install and preceded to install xbmc and it got as far as extracting udata and came up with another error.
Turned box off/on now just keep getting error 11 flashing green/red lights
so am stuck sometimes drive will eject sometimes not.
Have got 3 other boxes,2 softmodded, 1 chipped.
Will it be possible to use any of these to help me rebuild the hd?
(sorry for the long explanation )

panic over
don't ask me how I did it, but I managed to get it into a state
where I could reinstall the softmod ( think the softmod was corrupt, so deleted and reloaded from memcard) also gonna redo the aid disc incase
that is also corrupt.

Well it didn't last, re done the iso and put on another disc
put it in box and tried to install another dash (xbmc) got some errors
so put original disc back in and managed to install ( chose install xbmc to
c drive softmod, retail hd, so should have installed to e with shortcut on c)
when rebooted, it booted back to evoxdash
started up filemanager e/xbmc/default xbe,and got errors. tried a few things and now getting error 11 and drive wont open again.
I think the drive is shot (phillips) gonna try removing a drive from another box and putting it in.
The question is, should I rebuild the hd then start afresh?

I'd start by replacing the drive first, no point formatting the drive and losing everything if it can be avoided.
