Hi,
Iused to have a 500GB hard drive IDE which worked perfect.
I have bought a sata to ide converter. The converter works fine. When i load auto installer it loads up fine and gives me all kind of options to install the applications etc.
I have setup C: and E: properly with all the applications. The big partition f: gives me trouble. If i try to transfer some files to the hard drive via ftp i cannot send (random time) any more files to it. I have to reboot the xbox and resume the transfer. i have formated the f: partion which is around 700+ GB with 64k clusters xbpartitioner 1.1
I have a version 1.0 X-Box and i do not know which modchip is installed. BiosChecker is not working and i do not know which bios should i install.
do i have to split the large partition into each 350GB for f: and g: ??
Please help. 2 Days i couldnt find any solution to my problem

thanks for the fast response. best xbox website ever.
Never mind about the chip. I flashed it with evox.m8plus.fc.137.bin.
I also split the remainings 700GB into F: 350GB and G:350GB. I have formated them with 32 clusters which seems to work fine till yet.
Iam wondering why i cannot build one partition 700GB format it with 64 clusters. Shouldn't xbpartitioner1.1 upto 1GB partition ?
Something came into my mind do i need to patch my evox.m8plus.fc.137.bin. i dont know if something like this is even necessary or possible. I saw at the top xbpartitioner1.1 patch 3 when i launched xbpartitioner1.1. i have read in seperate threads that you can patch the bios but i couldnt find anywhere any clue how to patch a bios. The bios version iam using comes along with the AutoInstaller 4.3.
Hello,
I think the bios you are using is for a 1.6 console, im not sure tho ~ maybe someone can clarify. ...... If i were you, and your modchip can accept a 512k bios i`d flash it with the x2 5035 bios ....... just a suggestion. _________________

Nope its not for v1.6. I do have v1.6 too and its named like this evox.m8.v16.fc.137 and evox.m8plus.v16.fc.137 with v16
and nope my modchip cannot handle 512k version or 1mb version. only 256k
but i what i dont know is whats the difference between plus and none plus version of the m8 bios. but iam pretty sure i think i need to patch my bios so it can handle 64 clusters or higher
Have u had success transferring these files before ? ........ The name of the file to be transferred must not exceed 42 characters or have certain symbols ( !"£$%^&* ) in the title _________________

i know
it works with 32 clusters not with 64 clusters. if the partitions are smaller then 512 gb and formated with 32 clusters it runs fine. As soon as i make a bigger partition with 64 clusters format it wont work.
seems like xbpartitioner1.1 is not working

what do you mean with stock the hdd
cause yesterday i was transfering files to the hard drive and ftp stopped transfering files. this time i have 2x 350GB hard drive formatted 32 clusters still not working. should i use Ind-Bios cause i think the others do not support lb48 at all. i can only use 256k bios version. 512 and 1mb aint working.
what about the sata/ide adapter is it maybe why this is happening ?? what are the known issues with those adapters ???

IF you got it down to 2 350GB partitions 32k clusters should be fine so why make them 64?
