Posted: Sun Jul 13, 2008 10:31 am Post subject: Evolution-X Dashboard won't load, no errors, noob help
Hi i have a modded xbox that I got modded a few years ago at a local store and they did everything for me and it worked fine for the 1 or 2 years I used it before the 360 came out. Now it's been a long time since then and I haven't done anything to the xbox at all and I decided to take it with me to Europe to have something to do. Well, I plug everything in, turn the Xbox on, green light for the HD, says enabled, unprotected, book1 on the switches that are turned on, but it goes to the default MS dashboard. I tried multiple things like changing around the switches but that didn't work. I searched the HD and I saw the programs on there and the saves. I am not sure what to do at this point. I don't have the xbox with my right now it's about a 2 hour drive away hoping with the information I know you can help me otherwise I'll try to find out more when I go back there in a couple days.

Sounds like it cant find your hacked dash, try running a boot disk like AID and see if it will let you reinstall the dash.

okay I fixed the problem and it worked fine but now a few days later I try to turn the power on and the green mod light turns on, then off, then on, then off, then on and stays on meanwhile I get the red circle flashing around the power button. nothing shows up on display either.

Its hard to say since i dont know what chip it is or what bios its running.
You never say what ver. of xbox and is it just blinking red or red and green, help me out and give as much detail as you can.

I dont know what version it is but it is probably an older version. And what happens is there are 2 different lights. The red ring around the power button of the xbox that blinks and is red. And there is a different light on the mod chip under the xbox that blinks green then off then green then off then green again and it also makes a noise like its starting up and turning off and up then off and finally up and stays up and the noise goes along with when the green light on the mod chip turns off and on.
I know it is hard to try to figure out what is going on from just what I type but thanks for trying.

It cant read the chip so i would say its the soldering job.
Thats how it acts when it cant see the chip bios, it turns on and off trying to find it till it just gives up.
