Ok it's me again, I decided to reformat the c partition on my xbox's hard drive as planned. I followed the steps directly and very carefully, I got the xboxhdm and the copy of the c drive, and I did everything and order and all worked as it was supposed to. I let it sit for a couple of hours while i went out and when i got back the xboxhdm was back to the menue as it was supposed to be. So i unplugged the ide cable and put my hard drive back in the xbox and now when i try to load it loads the black screen and green text saying to contact customer service. Can anyone help me, i had never done this before but i went over and went over the steps and everything did what it was supposed to do it just disdn't turn out well. Thank you for any and all help.

Is it giving you an error number in the top corner?

I don't remember. I will have to check it when i get home. Just when it boots it takes me directly to that black screen with the green text in different languages and says contact customer support.

When that happened to me I just re-installed my soft mod. Does your machine even boot up with a game in the DVD?

I don't know. I haven't tried to load a game yet. But i will try. But before i tried to reformat my hard drive i tried to reinstall my soft mod and it didn't work. So i decided to go ahead and use the xboxhdm tactic. All the steps went smoothely, but now all it shows when it boots is the black screen with the green text..

Just check that black and green screen for an error number, I'm going to guess it will be error 5 or 6.

So my hdd is either locked or unlocked. So now all i have to do is find a way to either lock it or unlock it depending on the error code. Well can i use any chipped xbox to lock or unlock it, or will i need to install a chip in the original xbox?

Ok this is wierd. It is giving me error 16... The only thing i can figure is the ms dash i downloaded to fix my hd was not complete. Can i make a new iso cd with xboxhdm and reformat it with a complete dash from slayer evox disk? Or is there a better option?

LOL It is easy to over look but if you look at the AID guide it has a directory in there that will tell you ware the MS dash files are.

Good knowing i may have saved you a bit of time. Cool Laughing
