I was talking to 'Xboxter' about this, and it looks like my worst fears were put true, albeit a new twist.

I ordered an xbox from a seller on Amazon.com... I was worried that it wasn't going to be sent because of the number of days that went by without notification. Finally, after I sent a few emails to this guy he emailed me back with a delivery confirmation number.

My next fear was I would get an empty box. Well, I was checking the confirmation number and remarkably it says it was delivered yesterday at 11:57 AM. Well, after a few phone calls to the Postal Clerk, The Postal Delivery Inspector, and The Post Master....and they communicating with my carrier and the carrier who scanned the delivered Item...here is the conclusion that was drawn.

The seller sent a bogus letter to an address in the same city and state as the buyer. That way, when you input the delivery confirmation number into the system, it says "Delivered to Greensburg, PA". It only takes basic knowledge to know that it doesn't list the address that it was delivered to. Unfortunately for dickwad he thinks I will settle with the thought that, "OH No, someone stole my mail". What an ass.

Bad news for him is...he used the USPS to defraud me. Federal Offense. Now, to fight with Amazon to get my money back... because it says that a package was delivered to Greensburg, PA I may be screwed. We'll see.

later all

It seems...as of late that we are all gettin ripped on both ebay and amazon. Assholes. I had some guy want to give me $800 for a PS2 with about 30 games....turns out he didnt want to complete to auction on ebay...so I said ok, once I have the cash I'll send it out. So I got this shitty email from Western Union...it was kinda fishy, so I called Western Union to try and confirm this. They said you would never get an email confirmation from that type of email address. Needless to say I reported that ass clown. What is gettin into ppl these days?

Dude, I wish I knew. I sorta had a feeling I was in for a rough time with this one. I am just glad he took the extra time to really lay the fraud on. The fact that he actually took the time to mail an item to the wrong address was his downfall. The only other recourse I would have had before was to file a claim with Amazon to get my money back, they guarantee your purchases, unfortunately, I have to wait 30 days.

But, since this goofball took the liberties to get so elaboate, I can now get the USPS involved. By the time I am done with this cat it will have cost him 15-20 xbox's!!

All over a mere 149.00!! I am going to get an account at a Mail Center of some sort to have my items delivered there from now on. This way, I have an acting agent that can verify the delivery, or non delivery as in this case.

later man

Here's an update in the scam of the day!!

I received a call from the Postal Delivery Supervisor and they narrowed the scan down to the carrier and also the size and weight of the package. I originally suspected that the seller picked a bogus address in my home city and state and stuffed a box full of magazines and/or books. The weight of the scanned package was only 3.3lbs. An Xbox weighs just over 8lbs.

With the new info in hand, I sent one of my poisonous pen emails to this seller confronting him with my findings. I also gave him the phone number to the Pittsburgh Consumer Affairs Office, so he could go on record and let them know exactly what he sent via the USPS. I guess that was all it took, because within two hours I received a phone call from the seller in New Jersey apologizing for what he called, "some strange mix up". He insists that his boss, who does his mailing/shippihg for him, accidently sent of all things...books... to an address in Greensburg that was supposed to get some Ebay items. My Xbox was still sitting boxed up in the warehouse. He assured me that he would issue me a refund early this evening, and then called back after about an hour to inform me that the refund had been issues through Amazon. I am still waiting for it to show up in my Amazon account and will continue checking throughout the evening. I understand that it may take a little time to post to the account.

The moral of this story.... don't ever take getting screwed laying down!!! Unless of course....it feels good!

Hey, RM! How much is your integrity worth? That's what it boils down to! This guy you were dealing with will sell his for less than $150.
