Ugh! my xbox won't recognize the AID disc I'm burning. I've burnt it with DVD+R, DVD-R, and CD-R without luck, and used both Nero and DVD Decrypter to do so. I've read about 3000 posts here to no avail! (You guys rock by the way.) I've already flashed the bios on my Xecuter 3CE with bios X3_3294, and already backed up my xbox HDD to my computer, but I can't run the AID for some reason.

Stats: Xbox V1.0, LG DVD 8164B (flashed), stock HDD, Xecuter 3CE (soldered), Bios X3_3294.

When I load any of the discs into my xbox they spin and then do nothing. Am I supposed to have a dashboard installed first before I can run the AID disc?

You're my BFF if you reply... thx!

Welcome to the XBOX-HQ, we hope you enjoy the site.

Try clearing out your cache folder in your E/drive, sometimes it gets full from new installs.
Are you using DVD decrypter to burn just the aid 4.10 ISO file?

Yes, I used DVD Decrypter to burn just the AID 4.10 ISO file, both the non-updated version (565 MB), and then a version in which I updated some of the files (1.2 GB). But my drive is only reading the CD-R for some reason, not the DVD-R or DVD+R.

I just tried clearing out the cache in the E/drive but it didn't seem to help- the xbox DVD drive will spin for a few seconds and then stop and it brings me right back to the X3 bios screen. I tried holding the triggers and the white button while it booted but it didn't help (not sure it was supposed to, I just thought I'd try it.)

When I connect to the xbox using FLashFXP I can view the AID files on the xbox D/drive, so at least I think it burned correctly. I'm assuming the AID disc should auto launch and prompt me to install features?

Not sure if it matters but when I flashed the bios using X3_3294, I also included a 100 MB dummy.bin file for future DVD use.

I'm a few years behind on the scene but I'm trying to catch up quickly! Thank you!

Since you can FTP in you should try installing a dash with the FTP and set the X-3CL to launch that dash and you might want to look around your options and make sure the auto launch option is turned on.
