Posted: Fri Feb 08, 2008 5:31 am Post subject: ERROR 5 13 and 14.. XBOX HDD HOTSWAP WITH SOFTMOD xBOX?ASAP
ok im fairly new to this... i did a softmod to my xbox with the game..blah blah all went well it was SWEET! (thanx to u guys). anywho im always looking for bigger and better so i was doing an AID install all went well the first time but i didnt like it so i uninstalled it and the again decided to install it for a second time. well some where i fed up and ended up with error 13 but could still play games. so i was gonna try to do the HALO2 Live update to try and fix it, while waiting for the game to arive i got impationt, and did some screwin up and unlocked the hdd got code 5 and that put an end to my games loading. i tryed to hotswap with my pc but it says "invalid disket boot , insert floppy A boot"..so im thinking of just buying another xbox and IF possible after performing a softmod then running xboxhdm through the softmodded xbox and hotswaping to my bad xbox.. i dont know too much fancy talk.. but all help it good!!!but if i am going to spend $50 on a xbox to fix an xbox then i would rather spend a little more and install a NEW BIGGER HDD!!! i dont know much about all that but am willing to hear some advice...or tell me what all to do ... thanx so much guys..

When you had it working, did you take the time to backup the eeprom code to a PC or anything?

Thats just going to tell you you are missing dash files and the hdd is not locked but if you have the stock hdd or the eeprom files it can be fixed.
Chimp wold be the best way to go if you have the stock hdd still working.

first off id like to say OOPS!! this is not in the correct forum.. i thought it said XBOX errors not XBOXHQ errors. so if this must be moved that is fine.. any way i didnot back up the eprom to a pc.. should of!!! i ve already read up on the errors page and ive read and attempted hotswap with my other POS pc.. no luck there..i know how to softmod with mechassault..so can i just softmod another xbox and then hot sawap hdd with xboxhd. from the softmodded xbox to the errored xbox??? ifi someone is close to newphila ohio that can just do the pchotswap for cheep would be sweet too!! i dunno just wanna fix it!!!!thanx again fellas!!

Sorry man scarface_ak4t7 is a newb in here but if you have the Hdd that came with the xbox then the hotswap is your best bet.
If you have the stock hdd then you can use chimp to clone the stock drive to a bigger Hdd.
I find chimp to be faster but you need the stock hdd and it must be softmodded.
You said you cant get your pc to run xboxhdm, if you can get that to work then you can just use the xbox eeprom chip to lock and unlock the hdd and reset all the files on the hdd.
