i have been using my xbox as a media centre it has a 120gb hard drive and im nowwantign to put this in a pc so can i use chimp thats on the 120gb hard drive to unlcok the drive and remove it and put it in my computer? if so what is the process i have to follow to do this, i have my original xbox softmodded hard drive to put back in the xbox,any help would be great. thanks Very Happy

Just follow this guide http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-161.html to step 10 and it will be unlocked.

thanks for the quick reply,but isnt thee an easier way to unlock it with chimp? as i alrweady have that on the 120gb xbox hd

Don't forget that the drive will have to be formatted back into a PC format before it'll be read by the computer.

Xbox HDD's are formatted into a FATX file system, while PC's only support FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS structures.

notorious19 thats the best way unless you have a chip then you can just use config magig to unlock it.

so after its unloacked and back in my pc as a 2nd hard drive,how do i format it? can i just right click on the drive and choose format ? i have windows xp machine

As long as its being used as a slave drive yes you can just do the right click and format to NTFS and you should be good to go.

When you get to this screen you will see option 3 for locking unlocking tool, use that to unlockhd.
