I'm trying to put a new HDD (Seagate 200GB) in by booting from a disc (AID 4.12). The Xbox boots the disc fine when the original drive is used but I get the "xecuter2 Config Live Loading" screen and if flashes red and green if I connect the new drive and does nothing.
Should I try a different BIOS?
I have a 1.0 Xbox and xecuter 2.6CE chip. The hard drive is spinning and works fine in my computer.
I searched for problems similar to this and didn't come up with anything. Thanks for any help you can give!
Hi, Have you set the jumper on the harddrive to cable select ? _________________

If your jumper is set right then we wold need to know what disc you are booting up with?

I checked the jumper its set to cable select, still nothing.
I'm using AID 4.12 which boots fine with the original drive.
I'm using X2 5035 BIOS.
Thanks for the welcome! This is a great site, a lot more friendly to us newbs and a lot easier to find information!

If its not booting aid up then it might just be a bad burn of aid.
Try burning aid 4.10s iso to a cdrw or dvd-r and pop it in.

I tried 4.10 and still no luck. I'm going to run some tests on the HDD to make sure it's good and then go from there.

Looks like it was in fact the hard drive. I put in another drive and it immediately asked to format it. Thanks for your help everyone. At least the drive is still under warranty!
