hi all
thanks for looking, I have an old xbox that I chipped years ago
and installed slayers on it, think its in need of an update as xbmc is
well old,also noticed that the date was wrong so tried to update time/date
in ms dash but got error 21.
The question is can I just install aid as a new dashboard or do I need to rebuild the hd first also can I backup my saves before I wipe anything?
At the moment its running evox v1.8.3285
and the bios is x2 4974

Aid is not a dash its a boot disc like slayers but better, if you down load it and use it to install a new ms dash it will get rid of the error 21.
You can use to update any older dash builds you have and shold not need to format and start from scratch.

what I meant to say was use aid to install xbmc
so it should be ok to just install over the top of the slayer install?

Yeah man that should work fine.
You will need to download AID 4.10 to get the auto installer delux ISO and you can the use the aid 4.13 to update the ISO (the read me file will tell you how to update the aid ISO) then just pop it in and you can install XBMC as an app in the apps section or as a main dash in the dash section.

If i only had a doller for all the times i found the help someone needed just by skimming over a read me file.
Well twofires your new so you might not know but DJB here is the man that built the aid disc and all the killer tools that help us all here keep are xbox running nice and smooth.
