So, I softmodded my XBox using the SID files from AID4. After that I installed XBMC. After messing around a little, I decided I wanted XBMC to boot as the dash. So, I dopped in the AID 4 disk and did a 1 click softmod with XBMC as dash. Worked fine... all is well.
Later, my son was playing some games and dropped in Splinter Cell. He just clicked through the defaults, I guess (Not sure I was not there) All I know is by the time I saw what was going on, the screen said you have successfully installed the softmod...(Or whatever you get when you did it all correct). It rebooted to the Evox Dash.
I set them up with some games and figured I would re-do it later. Next time I check on them, The XBox was booting to the MS Dash, and would not read my AID Disk. Lost the mod, I guess.
OK, so now is the time to re-do the mod. I deleted the save games and SID files from the XBox and re-copied them over from my other XBox. Dropped in Splinter cell, chose the Linux profile etc... The screen goes black, then Splinter Cell just re-boots.
What do you guys think? Whats my next step?

Yes, its the only Splinter Cell game save (But I will double check that) I have no other game for softmodding... Ive done this three times before with my current setup with no issues.

Was happy to not have to do that anymore, but if thats what it takes... What's you preferred method? I'm still going to exhaust my exploit options firs though...
Thanks for the help...

If you can get your hands on Mechassault or 007 I'd try using them, rent it if you have to its only a coulpe $$ at most places or you canpick em up at Game Stop or another game store for like $10. I've done a couple Xboxes that wouldn't let me mod them usin Splinter Cell, but I popped in Mechassualt or 007 and it worked fine, so maybe it might work for you. I know you're not havin the same problem but it may work still. _________________

Mine kept doing that and I couldn't get to the softmod install. So I just clicked the options real fast to get to install the softmod and once it was intalling the softmod it didn't reboot. It worked for me...........LOL

Woah, before we go hotswapping or anything else that extreme, have you tried clearing the E:/Cache folder and deleting the contents of X, Y and Z?
The most common cause for games crashing or coming back to dashboard is that the cache folder needs clearing.
I'd give that a go before you go hotswapping or anything like that.
