hi,
after softmodding my xbox (sid 5.01/dualboot unleashx), i ran AID 4.10 lite and used the 'install all aplications' on my e: drive. everything installed ok but after restarting my xbox it just hangs on the hacked 'x' image - it won't boot unleashx or display the AID 4.10 disc. however, the retail msdash boots/plays games fine.
does anyone have any ideas of what to do next? i can still access the softmod menu via splinter cell and before loading aid 4.10, i backed up my c: + e: drives on to my pc.
all help much appreciated.
thanks

Sounds like it cant find your dash.
Did you add a dash after the install and if you did what drive did you install it to?

thanks for the reply wes213.
i didn't install a dash after running the 'install all applications' option on aid 4.10, as unleashx was fine.
as i can't view the aid disc on my xbox, how would i go about installing unleashx again? as in my first post, i can still view the softmod menu/file explorer through splinter cell.

no, i haven't tried to unistall the softmod - is it ok to use the softmod uninstall option? (i made eeprom/dash backups through the softmod menu). will i need to make ftp backups of c: + e: again or will the old ones be ok.
just to make sure i don't mess it up again:
1)re-install the softmod via splinter cell - (dualboot msdash/unleashx)
2) run aid 4.10 disc - use the softmod one click install option
3) pick dualboot with msdash virtual c - setup with unleashx.
4) let it install - restart xbox.
thanks

Yeah man make sure the E/backup folder has the msdash and eeprom and then use the uninstaller from sid.
Now the xbox is back to stock, just reinstall the same way you did it the first time.
Youll be fine.

just an update - i removed and reinstalled the softmod but the hacked dash and aid disc still wouldn't boot. but i could still access all the e:/applications through the softmod file explorer. i clicked on e:/evoxdash.xbe and it booted up unleashx and since then the hacked dash boots up on startup. not sure why this is but hopefully it stays that way.
thanks for all the help wes213.

Softmods name the .xbe file evox.xbe for both dashs. The reason it worked when you clicked on it is because then it knew where the .xbe was. That would mean your missing a file where its suppose to boot up at. _________________

Hi dartht33bagger. should i leave the evox.xbe file where it is (seeing that the softmod now knows where to find it and everything works) or move it to the right place? - will it cause problems if i try to install a different dash in the future?
thanks
