Ok, i just got another xbox today, guy SAID it was hit by lightning. Now, i have looked and looked and looked at this board and the PSU, don't you think if it was hit by lightning there would be some kind of psysical evidence such as a burnout somewhere. Specs are listed below
XBOX Version 1.2/1.3
Thompson DVD drive
Stock 10GB HDD
Never opened(untill now hehehe)

Seems like it wold but that dont mean it will show a burn mark.
May have been on a surge protecter, or hit with just enuff to muck it and not burn it.
I took 220 volts to my left hand putting in a stove one time kicked my @$$ but left no marks, could be the same thing here.

i was looking on a site my dad found, and it was showing a spot that had burnt up, and you could see the lightning marks.
I tried radio shack to see if they have a fuse like the on on the PSU, but of course they didn't.....if anyone else could provide a little more information i would love you till death!! _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial

something i forgot to mention before. When i plugged the xbox in, and then unplugged it to begin my testing, you could hear the PSU power down if you know what I'm talking about. _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial
if its knackered to start with just bridge the fuse gap with a solid metal object, not the best soloution but what have u got to lose.
also its amps that kill things not volts, so its possible that its been hit by lightening.... why not try the PSU from a different XBox ? _________________

other than taht one, all i have is a 1.0 and a 1.6, so no go on a dif psu.
It just confuses me horribly that its recieving power, but not sending it top the motherboard.....o well, will leave this to an expert, as i am no where near that. _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial

had a look on the net at a pic of a xbox DPSN-96AP-1 psu that had suffered a strike.
The guy mentions 4 x 1ohm resistors on the bottom of the psu board (positions R18a, R18b, R18c & R18d) that had blown. maybe check these on your psu. _________________

I have seen taht same post, or atleast someone else who had the same problem. I might just check on getting some resistors for it. So 1ohm huh, you think radio shack carries any that low? _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial
