go to the pc and click Start then Run
type in

CMD

then hit return. At the command prompt type

ipconfig/all > c:\ip.txt

post the contents of the ip.txt file back or just attach it to your post

Wow...
How about breaking down and buying a cheap router??? lol

or.
wouldnt the setting change if he bridges from pc to xbox..

instead of class C 255.255.255.0 wouldnt it be like class B 255.255.x .0 to the xbox.. and the Gateway ip would be the ip of his pc?

And the crossover would cross 1 & 3 ..2 & 6 on one end?

The reason why you are not able to go out through kai is you dns sever. That points out to the internet. Your ip addresses are correct, since you can ftp. However, the xbox doesn't know what "door" to use to get out. That's where the dns server comes in.

Long story short...use 205.152.132.23 for your dns server in you xbox settings.

Ethernet adapter XBOX:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :

Description . . . . . . . . . . . : 3Com EtherLink XL 10/100 PCI TX NIC (3C905B-TX) #2

Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-10-5A-0F-50-62

Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : yes

IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : what ever dhcp sets it to.Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.97 <if thats your modem ip.
