So I have two XBOX's. One a hardmodded (#1), one unmodded (#2). I'd like to softmod #2 by taking it's harddrive, putting it in #1's case ( with the chip ) and then swap back.
Is this a possible scenario? It seems like I could get away without the memory card/game disc and get straight to the nitty gritty... however I'm not sure of the specific steps.

Well you can't softmod an xbox with a chip, so it doesn't matter. Even if you could, you would have to unlock the hdd, which you can't do unless its modded, so either way it wont work. _________________

I'd like to know as well as I'm in the same predicament.
Can you eliminate any of the softmodding steps if you already have another hardmodded xbox? Does it make the softmodding process any easier/quicker (transfering save games, unlocking hdd, progs, etc.)?

Only way you can do it without doing the normal method is to do the hotswap way. It is alot harder, but it works. Not like $25 for action replay and $3 for a game that will work is that hard. _________________

or since you allready have a hardmodded box, ftp the gamesave to your xbox, transfer to the memory card, stick it in your other xbox and your set. Shell out 2-5 bucks for the game and your good to go. _________________

Great! Picked up a copy of splinter cell (original, not platinum version) and downloaded Krayzie_SC-NTSC_Ndure_Installer_v1.1
Now, do I:
- unzip the file and copy over the two saved games only (SC save 1 & SC save 2) - one at a time as I understand both will not fit on a memory card?
- run Splinter Cell, and load the saved game?
This should bring me to the setup screen where I back everything up and then proceed with installing a dash right?
The other stuff found in the zip (folders: extras and rescue disk) are not needed to perform the softmod right?

EDIT: Used SID, everything worked great! Softmodded the xbox in under 10 minutes!

Hi , I was trying this over the weekend. Basically trying to get the SID5.1 files for Splinter cell pal directly onto the MS mem card via FTP to I drive. In this case do I need to unrar the files?
I just a little clarity on what level the game saves that need to be transferred are at in the file tree. IE what files are the ones to ftp over?

Well you can't ftp files unless you have an already modded xbox. If you don't have a modded xbox, then you use the USB connector to hook the mem card up to your comp. Then transfer the files to the mem through action replay.
The files you will need is the SID 5.01 launcher and the gamesave of what game your using. If you going to use splintercell, then you need to figure out if you xbox is NTSC or PAL, then put the matching file onto the mem card. _________________

Sorry i should have been clearer. I have modded xbox which I would be using for the FTP through to the Mem card. I know that the xbox I want to use is PAL .
I just want to do it via FTP and want to know at which level (in the SID file tree) the right game save files are at. Thanks
