It is possible to take a HD from an unmodded Xbox and run Xbox HD Maker on it (from a PC) and have it work in the Xbox?
OR...
It is possible to take an already modded HD (from another Xbox) and place it into another UNmodded Xbox?

If the hdd is stock and you unlock it you can put it in any xbox
It will lock it back with it eeprom.
If im wrong some one let me know here.

So if I have a 20GB HD just sitting here and I have run the XboxHD Maker on it and put it in the UNmodded xbox it will work?
I don't have to lock the 20GB HD either? The Xbox will lock it for me?

I dont know about a non stock hd it dont seem like that wold work since thare is no info on the hdd.
Your best bet wold be to softmod the xbox then hot swop the hdd then its sure to work.

I know that is my best bet, but I don't have the needed hardware to perform a softmod with me. I have the HD Maker and a bunch of old 20 or 40GB HD along with an unmodded Xbox. Just looking for a way to bump up the HD without having to go through "Action Replay" or the Linux hack.
When I do run the XboxHDMaker it does put on the C, E, & F partitions along with the EVOX along with a few apps on the drive (XBMC and DVD2Xbox).

Do I need to eeprom file from the original HD and put it on the new 20GB HD?

If your soft modding the xbox it will back up the eepro for you then you can go to your file manager and get the eeprom to put on your new hdd for a hot swop.
