I have a 40gb laptop hard drive and a converter that changes the cabel from IDE to the smaller laptop connection. the guy at the PC store told me that it was only good for short term use. Do you thinik it would hurt to run the xbox completely off the laptop drive?
Hi,
I run that type of set-up with a mini ITX board, so i dont see it being any different in an XBox. im sure some of the guys with slim XBox`s do this also.

There was another thread about using a laptop hdd a few days ago, but i couldnt seem to find it. You should maybe talk to whoever posted it though and see if he had any progress. _________________

i wrote a thread the other day asking if it is possible to do so.. if you could mount the laptop hdd under the dvd drive it would clear alot of room for some type of cooling....
I also wrote a post in the case modding section with a link to a mini projector that i think could fit inside the xbox..

Like I said before, I think it would all come down to if the hdd is lockable of not. I dont think this would apply to a chipped box though. _________________
