ok bare in mind here, I reallydon't know too much about modded xbox's.
Im going to try to give you guys as much info as i can to work with.
So I bought a modified x-box from a friend of a friend. It was pre-loaded with a bunch of emulators, roms, etc etc. It worked awesome. It had 2 different operating systems on it that I could choose between on startup by holding down the right trigger. Avalaunch and something else. Everything was going great, we used it for about 3 weeks then all of a sudden, one day, we turned it on and it went straight to the regular xbox menu. We have no way of loading up Avalaunch or the other OS on there to load our emulators. It just happened all of a sudden. It does still say Xecuter 2 on the very first splash screen though, which makes me think its seeing the chip or something. But one thing I am really confused about is we took it apart to check out the chip and make sure it was still there or connected, and there was no chip at all. It looked like there was ONE soldered wire on the board but I dont know if the xbox came with it or not. Someone please help me!

If your getting the xecuter logo when it starts up that means it has a chip somewhere. If its starting up to the ms dash then that would mean the hacked dash xbe might not be in the C:\. So then it starts up the ms dash. _________________

why would it just all of a sudden start loading the MS dash??? How do I fix it

If you are getting the Excuter logo then the chip is in there. Look to the bottom left of the xbox on the motherboard. I don't know about other models but my X3 shines bright enough to make you wear shades. Anyhow It sounds to me like someone in the fam was messing with the file manager and doesn't want to fess up. I would first start easy on them with low voltages of shock torture and then maybe switch it up with the good old burning cigarette until one of them confesses. Let me know how it goes

So if I take a picture of the motherboard you guys can help me fix it? Unless I'm crazy, I took it apart and did not see a mod chip at all. There was one soldered wire on the whole board that didnt look apart of the original mobo

Modchip onley needs one wire for the do point you need to pop a pic up so the folks here know whats going on.
