The clicking noise coming from your HDD is the spindle jumping around inside, and its normally fatal.

Did you back up your Xbox drives before it went dead?

True cloud, hope he got everything backt up..
That clicking thing i had with an external usb hd 250...
Guess what??? DEAD!!!

No way of reviving that and it's data, unless your willing to pay mayor money by sending it to speciallist who might be able to get the information out there..

john_five0, Is that drive unlocked????? Try it on a external usb case if so maybe it would read, dont think so just try, sounds you have nothing to lose anyway

john_five0, is that hdd one that you had put in when modding it?
If so you still have the original?
Put it in if so probably gets you back going for now,
And also it will close down that error 1 you talking about...
If you dont get it anymore i didn't have to do nothing with the motherboard..
And do try that clicking hdd in a external case or pc if you had left it unlocked.

I had got it pre modded with the 320 gb hd. Yeah I'm screwed. I'm thinking about opening it up and trying to fix it myself. What else can go wrong eh? If I can fix great if not well I haven't lost anything just the experience. I am also think about trying to use my simple tech external hd it's a 170 gb hd. The biggest question answered I'm probably screwed, I did back it up but, I can't find the file, probably got deleted. I feel like a dumb ass. lol
