Ok, so I had EvoX already installed on my Xbox, but it didn't seem to be working very well. It only loaded one of my backups once, and then it only played for 15 minutes or so before giving me a disk read error. Anyways, I decided to use SID to install UnleashX instead. I went through the steps, uninstalled Evox, Backed up EEPROM and MS Dash, and installed the new softmod. But, while installing the softmod it gave me an error 121 (I think, I forgot to write it down).
After that finished, I'd been getting a lot of Red/Green light flashing, but that changed to a constant Yellow. I wasn't able to access my MS Dash. So, believing that there was an error in the install, I decided to uninstall the softmod through SID.
When the process completed the Xbox rebooted and I was once again in EvoX. I was still unable to run backups or AID, and I can't access MS Dash.
How can I recover my Xbox, and is there a way to do this without FTP, as I've been unable to FTP even though I'm using a crossover cable.

How do I uninstall EvoX?
Should I load SID again and try that?
EDIT: Ok, I booted Splinter Cell again and ran SID.
I selected uninstall softmod and ran that. I then selected restore MS dash and ran that.
After doing that I chose install dual boot softmod.
Chose Virtual C and EEPROM. And chose Unleash X. Toward the end of the install it gave me an Error 0 and then told me to restart to finish install. Now nothing on my xbox boots. I get the Xbox splash page and then a grey screen. I'm in worse condition than I was before, I can't access the hacked dash, let alone MS now.

Are you using SID 5.0? If you are its a bugged version that will give you an error after the install. If you do have 5.0, get 5.01. _________________

Yes, I used SID 5.0.
But how can I run SID 5.1 on my xbox. I can't do anything with it. I can't load Splinter Cell or a dashboard of any sort. I just get a grey screen after the MS Splash page

GET A CHIP!! I've never used the Soft Mod way of modding an XBOX but to me it sounds like a lot of trouble, you have to boot this or that then do whatever. All I have to do is press the power button........XBMC. GET A CHIP!
Good idea, but that requires soldering and purchasing.
I'm not really in the market for one. Maybe if I get really desperate.
Update: I got splinter cell to load after a few tries and went about trying to uninstall the soft mod. I tried updating SID to 5.01 using the save manager then rebooting the save exploit. I'm not sure if it worked.

I'll look into it. But any help with my current situation would be greatly appreciated.
Whenever I try and do anything with SID, and I restart, I end up going back to the EvoX menu.

You need to make sure the old softmod is uninstalled. Once that is done, have a memory card or whatever way your getting the save to the xbox is, with the SID 5.01 files on it. Then go into the game saves manger in the installer menu. Then delete the old files from the xbox and put the new ones on. Try booting it again, it should come up into the installer menu screen. _________________

Ok, well, I used SID 5.01, but I couldn't uninstall the old softmod. I couldn't install a new one or do anything it seemed like.
It seems like EvoX refuses to move.

Well the only sure fire way i could think of getting it off is to go into the installer menu. In the installer menu you can ftp. Get a copy of the MS dash, then delete all of the files in the C:\ partion. Then ftp the ms dash files over to the C:\, then it should be uninstalled, then you should be able to use SID 5.01. _________________

Alright, I'll try that, but I've had little success with FTP.
Thanks.
