Sorry to have to bother you all but hit a bit of a brick wall at the moment. Softmodded my V1.1 xbox using latest AID and SID all went well but when came to upgrading to 200GB hdd using Chimp. All seemed to go okay, set jumper on 200GB to CS and installed it in xbox. On boot up, just gives "Call Service dept" in lots of different languages??

Not sure if I installed the correct EvoX dashboard for larger HDD?
Could I just remove Softmod and retry installing appropriate dashboard?
Also, appreciate that there may well be a LBA48 bios patch required but not sure if the Dashboard installation does that or need to do something else??

Thanks for taking the time to read this and hope someone can point me in the right direction, as so far I've Googled myself silly looking for clues.

No not tried Xboxhdm yet as had hoped I could get it to work with Chimp and it was just a matter of me doing something dumb.

If can't get any pointers from the experts here with Chimp will look at Xboxhdm .


Does the new hdd need to locked when put back into the xbox?

If you don't have a mod chip in the xbox it has to be locked.

That could be the problem then, mine is only softmodded and don't think I locked the larger HDD drive. Will try it again

So the Bios issue should n't be a problem then.
