How can I take a hdd out of a old xbox and make it work in another xbox with no drive in it the board is still good just no hdd the people took it out

I never looked in to it myself but i dont think you can.
Most of the stuff i read on it said that the motherboard and hdd are a set deal and youll need to chip the box to run a new hdd on the M.B. sorry guy but thare is a tut in here for how to use the hdd in your pc.
I might be wrong if so some one fill me in.

Without the eeprom you would need a chip to install any kind of hdd.

Sorry guy i got your email and as my boy bongripz here has said you wiil need a mod chip to install a new or used harddrive in your xbox.
You can softmod and hot swop it but youll need the OG xbox hdd for that motherboard to soft mod in order to get the the eeprom that matches your M.B.
hope this clears it up for you and you might want to check your email setting or something, i used reply to sender to email you back but it just sent it back with some err crap.

if both xboxs are chip you can swap hdds easy as long as tay are unlocked. use the AID disc for best proformace GOOOOO AID

thats the prob he dosent have a chip or soft mod he just wanted to know if he can switch the hdd from one xbox to one that dosent have an hdd.

He could do the whole remove the eeprom off that xbox mb and put in on another xbox mb.....but that might be too hard Razz

Id say get a cheap solderless chip and get it running again.

Well i am in a similar position, i have an xbox with no hdd, it is chipped with an x3 but its a 1.6b and i have been told i need to hotswap the chip? But i dont know much about that, so what do i need to do to get it going? Thanks
