thanks for that, i looked error coad 7 and it is HD "timedout" but i will still download that program anyway for the the new HD. what size do you suggest for the HD? would it make the xbox preform slower if it is too big?

like the HDD size really doesnt matter the speed of it is all in the memory and i think stock memory is like 32mb but the size doesnt matter and i have C and E for a modded xbox and when i upgraded my HDD it returned to stock _________________ xbox AID 4.10 80GB WD

The real problem here is going to be the Eeprom that is on the old hdd/motherboard. You MUST lock the new hdd with the Eeporm from the old hdd. Do you have this? If not I think only way to get it is through a Reader of some sorts that connects to motherboard. I cant recall whats its called. Thats why backing a Eeporm is the most important step of any mod.

ok, well i have given it to someone to exstract the data off of it but will that Eeprom file come off of it and if so will it still be able to be used to lock the drive?

hmmm. Not sure. I know when u do a softmod it puts in a folder but since yours wasnt modded b4 Im not really sure. Maybe someone will post how to find it. I know that Ive heard of a Reader that can pull it off the Bio chip.

You may have to get a chip to get it to work _________________

i just upgraded my hard drive within the last few weeks, and i had to pull everything off it using xbox hdm, so if you cant access the drive you might be out of luck :-/
