hey everone I'm new to this site. I install a new hdd using the xboxhdm instructions I tried the new hdd upgrade tut too but I always get a error 6 does anyone know khow to fix this. oh my xbox is a softmod trying to install a lorger hdd

That means you did not unlock the HDD.

Service Error 06
Info: Cannot unlock Harddisk. This means that the key you put in (when you locked it) was invalid.
Solution: Check the IDE Connection/Cable and check the Power Supply.

Was it a new HDD or one off another xbox?

You're using the wrong eeprom... Do you have the original hdd still?

yeah I have it and I'm in the process of redoing the whole thing I think I found a different eeprom on the drive than the one I was using if that is possivle

ok the first eeprom file i had had a bunch of zero's in it the one i found has got a bunch of numbers and stuff in it but i'm having a problem getting mak-iso-win.bat to work for reason but i think this is the eeprom i need i hope anyway

just make you get the eeprom from the backup folder, and that you lock it the correct way and you should be fine. and for the ISO maker not working, make sure the file is not to big or extract the file again and try a different one.

when i'm in xboxhdm it doesn't give me an option to locate the file itself if that is what you mean

when you take your eeprom off of your hard drive you need to put the file into the eeprom folder that was given to you with the xboxhdm folder.

Have u tried using the old eeprom to unlock it? you will have too in order to unlock it, and if that doesnt work. You will need to pay to have it unlocked, google: hdd unlock wizard.

I finally got it working stupid me forgot to take out the other disk and put the new cd-r I made in.But now my softmod isn't working any idea why
