Thanks for all your help. You guys are really helpful. I appreciate all the insight. I just had a bummer moment though. The HDD I was depending on is not lockable. . I am just going order a drive off Newegg.com. Thanks once again for the invaluable info and keep the work going.

I just found another drive lying around that I decided to try out. I have only one question though Regarding the Tutorial as indicated in my earlier post, do I put the contents of my C: drive in the corresponding C: folder of Xboxhdm or thexboxhdmlinux folder? Also what about the MS folder, what should be done with the contents of that folder?? Thanks for the response

I followed the tutorial and now with the new drive installed, I am getting a 16 error code. What am I doing wrong?? I am using an older Quantum Fireball drive (it does support drive locking). Could that be it? Should I buy a newer Western Digital drive (seeing as how the was the brand I took out of the Xbox)Please help.......

Error 16 is a dashboard error so that means that you didn't put all of the Ms dash files on. Now you will need to do a hotswap to get them all on. _________________

i have upgraded my hard drive with this tutorial with my 300 gig drive.
make sure you are copying all of your dash correctly you can download a new ms dash in my sig if you have too. but also rember that you must lock the drive right after you are done. thats is where i mess up using this tutorial.
just copy the files you need to get it to work, then transfer your saves over afterward. and btw drive brand does not matter.

You could always just unlock it and download the MS Dash files from my signature. Just place the folders contents in the C folder.

A hotswap?? Isn't that when you do not have a eeprom backup. I do have a backup of my eeprom and I did backup my MS dash. I just did not put them on the ISO I made with xboxhdm recover disc. Can I just unlock the drive reformat and start over by adding the MS dash to the recover disc this time. BTW THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU HELP.
