i know i know, im sorry. you guys have probably been asked this 1000 times, but i've almost pulled my hair out trying to solve this problem, and am in need of assistance:
ok so i just got a used action replay to softmod my xbox with. i install all the software, everything goes smoothly. i plug in the action replay with a memory card (this is where the fun begins), and my computer gives me this message:
"USB Device Not Recognized: One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it" and keeps giving me this message over and over and over again (it disappears and then reappears every 10 seconds that this piece of $#!^ is connected, for a super fun aneurysm inducing experience).
so i reinstall all the software, redo everything, but same result. so i go to the codejunkies support site, but find little help there. i did, however, manage to find the new update for their software. so i download that, try again. same thing. so i went to device manager, and my computer keeps seeing my action replay as "unknown device". so i right click, try and install drivers for it, but it says that the drivers for my action replay arent for this device (even though the device is... an action replay...).
so: am i just up sh*t creek or is there some sort of fix for this? luckily the guy who had the AR before me had a softmod installer already on the memory card, so my xbox is modded. but i still have the problem of how to get my emulators on the xbox. any help would be great. thanks.
one more thing: i tried it with my windows 2000 comp with the same result... at this point im seriously doubting i can do anything about this.
i have another problem though: im trying to connect to my xbox ftp, but dont have any luck. i have a router and the xbox is connected to the router via an ethernet cable, and it has an ip assigned to it (so i know it is connected). only problem is i cant connect to said ip. it cant seem to find it. i set it up as an ftp in my network places but still no luck. ive used ie and filezilla and flashfxp, but nothing seems to work.
basically im just trying to get xbmc on there and am having to wrestle with my inexperience the whole way. anyway, thanks again for any help.
