Do you need the Microsoft Dashboard on your Xbox if you are going to install a modchip in it? I softmodded my Xbox and somehow (yes I know im retarted) during the process I deleted the Microsoft Dashboard off my Hard Disk Drive when installing UnleashX Version 0.37 (I know I haven't updated it). Do you need it when installing a modchip? Do you need it if you are installing a new Hard Disk Drive? You see I want to install a bigger Hard Disk Drive so I can copy games to it and mod games like Halo and Halo 2. The reason im asking about the modchip is that I know you need one that supports the Hard Disk Drive Swap Feature. So in short heres my question: "IS THE MICROSOFT DASHBOARD REQUIRED TO BE ON YOUR XBOX WHEN YOUR INSTALLING A NEW MODCHIP AND A NEW HARD DISK DRIVE"
P.S. I don't care about not being able to access Xbox Live cause the only Xbox game I play is Halo 2 and I have a Xbox 360 so it is backwards compatible.

As far as I know you dont need it to install a chip. And I know for a fact you wont need it when you upgrade the hdd. _________________

OK check it out, you DONT need it for a chip or a new HDD. Infact once you get the chip, you can put a new hdd in and then put AID in your dvd drive and format it and prepare it right in your xbox!!!!

Thanks alot guys. Uh what version of Auto Installer Deluxe should I get? Im searching the torrent sites and I see 3.10 as the most prominent but I also see 4.1 and 4.2 are they updates for it like you download 3.10 and then 4.1 and 4.2. Also when you install a modchip and "flash a BIOS" what exactly is that doing. If you only had the Microsoft Dashboard would it install a new Dashboard like UnleashX or EvolutionX? And also one more thing lol. When you install a new Hard Disk Drive is it as easy as taking out the old one, putting in the new one, and then like ftping all your data onto the new one? Can you use Auto Installer Deluxe and just stick it in your DVD Drive and install everything. Thanks in advance.
P.S. And thanks alot TheRealHypnotiX for the Microsoft Dashboard in your signature. I downloaded another one from RapidShare.com but it wouldn't Ftp to my Xbox for some reason I hope this one works I haven't tried it yet.
P.P.S. Sorry guys I didn't know you could restore the Microsoft Dashboard lol. I should have done more checking before I asked.
