hi guys, i got a softmodded xbox and a normal one. i wanna mod the normal one with a upgraded hard drive. Can i use the softmodded xbox to help me with this..
question 2. Is softmodding just changing the HDD or is it doing something else in the xbox aswell. Is it not as easy as having the files on a locked hard drive and swapping them over. I know easy question but i cant find muh answer. YOUR HELP IS MUCH APPREICATED

Ok, first off, the HDD in your softmodded Xbox is locked to that motherboard. It will be useless in your non modded box.
Softmodding is much more than just changing the HDD, in fact, you don't have to change the HDD to softmod at all. It allows your box to run games backed up on DVD's or play from the HDD, run emulators and ROM's, play DVD movies without the need for the playback kit, change the skin and look of your dashboard, allow you to FTP into your box and so much more.
Just remember, a HDD from another Xbox will not work in yours.

All true, but if you would like to softmod your unmodded XBOX, you can get the tools here.
This way you can upgrade your HDD and even un-mod it after if you'd like. Also keep in mind, once you've done this, if that XBOX has been on live and you take it back on with a new HDD, they will ban you. _________________ Hotswap Tutorial|FTP Tutorial|HyperX Flashing Tutorial

I play on live with my upgraded HDD xbox all the time and im not banned yet, weird.... _________________

have you been on with the stock hdd though? Microsoft records the serial number of the drive the first time you log onto live. _________________

Ya i played on live with my old xbox from november last year to march this year with the stock HDD. Then i got my gamertag banned from halo 2 matchmaking for modding in custom games and i had a 360 so i made a new gamertag. I use that to play games now. I still go onto live with my old gamertag on my old xbox, and it has a bigger HDD now. _________________
