I am trying to re-mod my xbox using SID 5, it is currently running a version somewhere between 2 and 3. It has probably been about 2-3 years since I played with it last. So I turned it on and backed up everything to my pc and then popped in the mechwarrior disk. I backed up the eeprom, and then tried to install. The only problem is that it won't because my backup/ms directory contains modded files. Something must have gone wrong many years ago and I seem to be noticing it now.
Soo... is there any way to fix this so I can install the Virtual C + EEPROM HD option? I would like to be able to install XBMC as a dashboard using AID. (and any subsequent updates to XBMC that AID includes)
Thanks for any help...

IF you have backed up the hdd then just run aid and format the hdd and reinstall stock hdd settings then use sid 5 to resoftmod it.

If... What was backed up was the modded one. I think SID 2 did not check if the backup/ms folder contained modded files, it just backed up the c drive into there and went on its merry way. So I am going to guess that I screwed this one up long ago. I also must have lost the files from two upgrades ago. (Well I had some files but it looks like it was from a XBMC install.)
That being said however, I found a post at http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/400161 that pointed me to a image of the c drive. So SID 5 is installing now and if everything goes well, AID should be installing after that.
Thanks for the help though
