Well, OK, here it is. I have been poking around these forums, and through the tutorials, and through every other site I can find, but I still can't figure out how to fix my problem.
I had an EvoX dash installed (via the AUF softmod exploit) and I had (somehow) replaced the hard drive with a 120 GB model. All of this was over a year ago. Halo 2 (off the hard drive) stopped working, and I decided to redo the softmod using the auto-installer deluxe 4.0. All of this was going fine until AUD4 was being sassy and not finding various files and other such bull. Eventually, in the course of trying to fix things, I formatted the drive and now I have a blank drive.
So, I bought a new action replay system since I lost the old one and a copy of splinter cell, but I can't seem to access the gamesave from within the game (keeping in mind that the MS dash is completely gone). I have a variety of tools on my PC that I am not sure how to use. My Xbox will boot games.
What do you experts think I should do? Is there some way to restore my MS Dash (or any useable dash) by putting my HD in my PC (keeping in mind I don't have any eeprom information or any of that other business saved - just a blank drive that I want to prepare to use)? Where do I go from here?

Ok you either do this, buy a mod chip, or hotswap the dash back on. If you get a mod chip, then put it in, flash it with a bios then make a UnleashX boot CD( which i have a tut for). Put it in and it will boot into UnleashX and then you can FTP the MS dash files over to your xbox. This way will only work with a mod chip. If you dont want a mod chip then do a hotswap.

Depending on the bios you use you will not need that boot cd just AID and as for the MS dash files click the link under my signature. If you do get a chip I recommend the X3 or Doux X 2 GS and with the X3 3294 bios it will boot AID and you can reinstall your dash. If you get the doux I would flash it with X2 5035 bios. Make sure it is the 512KB version.
