What is a TSOP hack and would there be any benifits vs softmod?? How would it be done?

Well a TSOP can only be done a V1.0-V1.5 xbox, V1.6-V1.6b dont have the points for it. Its also just like a mod chip, just cheaper and can't disable it.

It can be done by soldering a couple of spots on the mother board. Then flashing the bios chip on the mobo. I can do it for you. The benifit of this over a softmod is that it is just like having a chip without bying a chip.
Thanks alot for the reply and the link... Will this effect my softmod at all or will it be the same as always? Would the flash enable me to do things like change the blubber colors and the m$ logo? Im undecided if i want to do the flash yet, i want to find out more about it before i decide wether its for me or not..
Couldnt i use my eeprom reader to do the flash??
I dont use live so im not worried about disableing anything..

Yes you can change the flubber color and the xbox logo with a TSOP.
Ok cool thanks alot, ill give that some thought.. I think it would be really cool to change the flubber colors, I like to impress my friends and myself lol.. Again thank you for the info

The flubber colors can be changed with the right bios what version Xbox do you have and if you are worried about messing it up I do mods for people and I am an admin here I can set up the bios for you with whatever color flubber you want.
i have v1.0, im kinda attempting it myself (i like to tinker lol) but i cant quite figure out the linux part of it...i already got it soldered, i followed the tut from here http://www.xbox-linux.org/wiki/TSOP_flashing_HOWTO but i just cant telnet into the xbox, or it will connect and say press any key then it loses connection....i found the image_1024.bin....
