I need some help accessing the HDD that used to be in my XBOX. I would like to retrieve some files off of it, and then format it to be used in a normal computer application. The XBOX that this drive was in has been junked and is no longer in any usable condition. I am trying to access the hard drive using an external hard drive case that is USB operated and is connected to a laptop. The laptop recognizes that the device is connected, but does not assign a drive letter to the hard drive. I have a backup of the original C and E folders from the hard drive on my PC. Unless the EEPROM is copied into this backup, I do not believe I have a copy of this file. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can link to this hard drive without an XBOX, if this is even possible? Thank you in advance!!

hey, sounds liek you hdd is still locked, you will need the eeprom.bin fiel if you backed it up from your xbox. and use xbhdm 1.9 or similar program to unlock it, then you will neeed to get winhes, a hex edit program, and use it to make a image of the hdd, so that a program called fatx explorer can read it, and you can dump the files from there. _________________ Please post all PC Questions at PC-HQ.com
