I am in need of some assistance. I have an XBOX (v1.6) with an Xecuter 2.6 CE mod chip. The mod chip is working and I've installed the Evolution X dashboard. I downloaded AID 3.10 and burned it to a DVD+R. When I boot with the disc in, it shows the boot sequence, then goes to a black screen. When I try to launch the disk from the dashboard, I get the same results. I ftp to the xbox and I can see the contents of the DVD. It looks like everything is there. I have tried this with AID 4.0 and with DVD-R and DVD+R media with no luck.
I would like to put a larger HD in and be able to boot from the DVD to configure it and install XBMC. What else can I do to get AID 3.10/4.0 installed?

I was using the M8 bios. I reflashed to 5035 and it loads the DVD. Added a 150GB drive and formatted for XBMC install.
Important reminder: use the correct bios for your version.

Are you sure your HDD is not locked because I couldn't install AID 3.0 because my HDD was locked but I found a program called HDD Unlock it costs $1.25 for every 10GB your drive has. It really is a great program that you can also use initially to see if your HDD is unlocked in the first place. If it is it sales pitches you to unlock it by buying a 80 GB code for $9.95 But anyways I bet that is your problem, a locked HDD.

doesn't matter if drive locked or unlocked
you should still be able to run and install aid i've done this on a soft + hard modded xbox
all the hdd locker does is to ensure the drive is locked so when boot up without chip activated you don't get an error 5
there is also a tool on the installer that will lock and unlock a hard-drive so no need to pay for a piece of software to do it

I beg to diifer, walkerx. If you use ConfigMagic Final there is no guarantee it will unlock the HDD if the HDD is locked to a different motherboard. I AM SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE. If you lock a HDD with a different motherboard than the one you currently have in your Xbox and you throw in AID 3.0 or AID 4.0 it wont even boot the disc! Now lets say you start the Xbox with the stock/factory HDD that is locked to the motherboard and you start AID 3.0 or AID 4.0 (which will boot)and open ConfigMagic to try and unlock the other (aftermarket) HDD by doing a hot swap so AID 3.0 or 4.0 can be installed. ConfigMagic will say UNABLE TO UNLOCK HDD. So you are stuck with a dilema (a locked HDD that wont allow AID 3.0 or 4.0 to be installed) and this is when my previous posts advice to use HDD Unlock is essential. Once again I am speaking from experience. If you dont believe me walkerx get a friends modded xbox and lock your HDD to his motherboard then try to throw in AID 3.0 or 4.0 with that same HDD you locked to your friends motherboard in your xbox. You will not even be able to boot AID 3.0 or 4.0--ironically Slayers will boot and install everything but when you reboot your xbox you will receive error 13 (dashboard not loaded). The reason why it comes up error 13 is because Slayers didn't actually install because the drive is locked. In this situation the only way is to unlock the HDD by using software like HDD Unlock.

i didnt read your whole post jimmyemunoz, but the xbox being locked doesnt have to do with it being able to boot software, and ya if the hdd is locked to a dif xbox it wont boot, but im glad Clowntrigger that you got it figured out.. _________________ (2) XBOX v1.4:
