Ok I want to start out small by just adding a 20g HD and I was wondering if there is a special way to format it? Could I also slave my old box HD to my new 20g? I am also running a softmod and I read in a different forum that I could ruin everying if I unlocked my HD or something like that...What do I have to do to make sure nothing goes wrong? _________________ RastaCalavera

Ok, easiest way to upgrade your HDD, seeing as though you have a v1.0, is through Chimp. That way you can keep your softmod, all your files and structure, but gain space for whatever you wanted.
As you have a softmodded Xbox, always keep the HDD locked, it won't boot if it isn't and you'll end up having to do a hotswap. Chimp will format the drive for you anyway as you use the program, so you wouldn't have to worry about formatting it yourself.
Now, as for running your second HDD. Your best bet it to just get yourself a big HDD, chances are a drive of say 200 - 300GB is going to have more space than your ever going to need anyway, and keeping the DVD drive allows you to use it for backup/transfer purposes if needed.
There are things called "extenders" which you may have seen. Basically its an attachment to the Xbox which sits on top and allows extra HDD's to be installed.

I used Xboxhdm to make a new HDD once, thought it was good. Havn't used chimp so i couldn't tell you if it s good or not. You will need to use one of these programs though. _________________
