Hi,

I'm a relative newbie running an existing modded XBOX with XBMC at my home in Osaka Japan. This XBOX was ordered from ebay and came pretty much ready to go.

I've decided recently that having a 2nd XBOX would be nice so that we can watch TV and movies on different TVs.

I've never soldered anything on a circuit board and have never done a softmod.

Does anyone have any advice on the best steps to take. I think I can find a used Japanese XBOX in osaka and I already have a copy of mechAssault...but I think it probably won't work on a Japn box right?

I'm sure they sell pre-modded boxes here but then I'd probably need to be able to speak better Japanese Smile

anyone have any advice on the best and cheapest sollution to obtaining a modded xbox here?

Get yourself a Xenium Gold chip solderless kit from Team Xodus, this was the first chip I ever used and had it installed in less than 5 minutes. This chip will format a new hdd for you as well as allow you to FTP the necessary apps needed by your newly modded xbox.
