Greatings all, I have tired to do as much research as possible but I'm still a tad confused on which is my best option so I thought it would be best to ask here to save confusion. I have a xbox 1.2 (acording to versionchecker) with an 80gb hdd and a excuter2 mod chip. I have a 300gb hdd I want to upgrade to. How do I go about preparing the hdd before installing it to the xbox? With the dashboard I want to be able to play music, dvds, divx and copy games to the hdd(backup) which is the best dashboard to do this? Also where can I download the latest version of this dashboard and how do I go about downloading it (torrent,mIRC)? Lastly I would like to backup my saved games from the (80gb hhd).
I have a computer wif a network card, crossover network cable and a few spare hdds if required.
cheers, mickah

welcome mickah,
ive done HDD upgrades with just a computer not a chip but it sounds like you want to upgrade with a chip though i dont have a chip or use them but i know you need to clear everything off the HDD but backup your eeprom cuz if you dont then your really screwed cuz that is what locks it after you upgrade so it can operate correctly and the best dash for your intrest would be XBMC it is a dash made for media and the dash is located somewhere in the download not exactly sure where and you might have to be a VIP member and about the game saves the way i do my upgrades i basiclly copy the HDD contents and installs them into the other HDD and it tranfers everything
i hope i am help to your confusion _________________ xbox AID 4.10 80GB WD

heres the question have the drive been used if so all you do is format it and upgrade and it will do the files and folders for you...ok this is how i upgrade i went and bought new HDD and when i upgraded it through my computer it auto. puts the folders in it but the down fall is you have to have the xbox drive backed up and when you sucessfully upgrade it than you need to resof mod it and about the eeprom it is located in your c folder not for sure man because i havent played in a while but pretty sure it is _________________ xbox AID 4.10 80GB WD
